Cruise Along Sungai Belait

Last weekend members of BSRC Photography went for a cruise along Sungai Belait, with main purpose of learning/sharing photography techniques, and secondary purposes of getting to know other members and to wind down (and eat of course!).

Enjoy some of the pics here, and will upload more.

Small kid with Big Heart

I was cleaning up my desktop and found this. It brought tears to the eyes, and I have to say Muhammad and Iman sometimes do something like this, but not Aaeeshah.... I guess its the age thing.

My Kampong . . . the place where I grew up

the House I grew up in, in Kampong Melayu Asli

View of the Belait River from our house

My dad & step-mom run this gerai, selling Nasi Katok, Roti John, Teh Tarik & Juices. Oh... & ABC.

Support vessels for Brunei Shell calling it a day

floating 'apong'...

Muhammad wanted his photo taken with the 'apong'

A barge being towed out to the sea... heard its heading to Kuching to get rocks??

The Kampong was recently facelifted - prior to that the landscape was only grass with a few palm trees and leaning... YES, leaning street lights. So the Municipal Board spent $$ to facelift the area, with concrete pathways and beautiful lights, as well as benches for lepak. The downside is there is no parking space, so people tend to park on the road, making it a single lane.

Family Picnic in Tutong @ 15 Nov

Last weekend, Gembo family with nenek nenek & Wawa wawa + cousins went to the beautiful Tutong beach, located midway between our Kuala Belait town and Bandar Seri Begawan... Last we went there was August 2006!

It was a treat for the children having finished their exams on Thursday. Wish the Sunset Photographer was there though.... u r really missed!

We brought fried mee & fried rice & fried chix (READ: FRIED!) + keropok's - my my, this is a calorie laden outing hahahah - but the kids enjoyed it, they get to play with the waves and the BIG kids get to play the ATV (all terrain vehicle?), that cost $10 per 20 minutes. We played a full 1 hour until it got too hot out there.

Enjoy the pics below.

The beautiful beach, and THAT cloud... I don't know what it is but it sure looks interesting, so captivating!

The kids playing with the waves... well, that's as far as they could go.

Babah.... may I ride with you? Of course, son.

My in-laws were wondering - what's gone wrong with their "favourite" son-in-law
